The London Borough of Bexley lies to the south east of Greater London and is referred to as an Outer London borough.
Bexley has over 1500 acres of open space and parks despite being only 12 miles (30 min by train) to the south east of Central London. Many of Bexley’s annual summer events are held at Danson Park, believed to have been landscaped by the famous “Capability Brown”. Hall Place and a Jacobean mansion house, featuring its award winning gardens set alongside the River Cray, are some historic attractions as well as Lesnes Abbey that was built in 12th century by Richard de Lucy, Chief Justice to Henry II. Another place of interest is the David Evans World of Silk Museum, outlining the history of silk and providing demonstrations of hand-silk printing.
